Ridgway man charged for violating Megan’s Law regulations
RIDGWAY — A Ridgway man has been charged for failing to comply with Megan’s Law registration requirements.
According to Ridgway-based State Police, Keith Davidson, 36, of South Street, had changed addresses without notifying the property authorities, as he is a convicted sex offender. The charges are filed with District Justice James L. Martin.
Reading woman charged for careless driving
RIDGWAY — A Wednesday evening accident in Horton Township led to charges for the driver involved.
According to Ridgway-based State Police, Jodi Paul, 55, of Reading, was operating a 2004 Subaru Forester and traveling south on State Route 219 at 5 p.m. when her vehicle traveled across the northbound lane of traffic and then back across the southbound lane before striking an embankment off the west side of the road and coming to a stop.
Police reports indicate Paul was transported by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Altoona for treatment of her injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene by D and T Towing.
State Police report that Paul was charged with careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Vehicle fire in Elk County causes $5,000 damage
RIDGWAY — Ridgway-based State Police report that a vehicle fire at 157 Laurel Lane in Fox Township resulted in the complete loss of a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac.
Reports indicate that the State Police Fire Marshal investigated a vehicle fire that occurred at 1:15 a.m. Friday at the location on Laurel Lane. A vehicle owned by David Stahle Sr., 67, of Kersey, sustained major fire and heat damage. The fire marshal determined the fire started in the engine compartment. At this time, the fire is classified as an undetermined fire and loss is estimated at $5,000.
Tractor Trailer driver sustains injuries Thursday
LEWIS RUN — A Luthersburg man operating a 2006 International Harvester in Liberty Township sustained minor injuries as a result of a crash Thursday morning.
According to police reports, Todd Donahue, 50, was operating a tractor trailer and heading west on Route 6 near Old Bush Hill Road in Liberty Township at 10:31 a.m. when he came up behind a vehicle attempting to turn left onto Bush Hill Road. Police say Donahue attempted to apply the brakes, at which time the trailer he was towing crossed the double yellow line. The truck and trailer went off the roadway, striking an embankment and coming to rest off the side of the road. The truck sustained front-end damage and a punctured fuel line, according to police.
Donahue sustained minor injuries. Police reports say that due to the fact the roadway was dry and clear and the crash occurred during daylight hours, Donahue was cited with the violation of driving on roadways laned for traffic.
