CLEARFIELD — Construction work for a new bridge on Emporium Road in McKean County will resume next week as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
The bridge spans Havens Run, about three miles southeast of the village of Betula in Norwich Township.
A single-lane traffic restriction controlled by temporary traffic signals went into effect in August 2018.
That pattern was scheduled to end in late 2018 but late season flooding, and environmental restrictions temporarily halted construction activity until spring 2019. The bridge work is now expected to be complete in August, which will restore traffic to two lanes.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may continue to change.
