This year’s Main Street Clean-Up day has been scheduled for May 4 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Registration will be held at Veterans’ Square. Volunteers, either individually or as groups, are needed to help with the event which is being held to coincide with the statewide “Great American Cleanup of PA” campaign.
“We have a beautiful Main Street here in Bradford, with many great places to visit, shop and dine,” said Main Street/Elm Street Coordinator Sarah Matzner. “It is my hope that people will take pride in that and come out to help make a difference by participating in the clean-up. As done in the past, the group with the most volunteers will be awarded $100.00.”
Clean-up activities include hosing down Main Street sidewalks, which will be done by the Bradford City Fire Department, street sweeping, picking up trash and cleaning up the flower beds along Main Street. There is also a clean-up event taking place on the same date and at the same time in Bradford’s Second Ward Neighborhood.
For the Main Street clean-up, individuals and/or groups can register at Veterans’ Square where they will be assigned areas for clean-up. Those wishing to lend a hand in the Second Ward should meet at the First Presbyterian Church. Gloves, garbage bags and safety vests will be provided at both locations.
