The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford held its Honors Convocation on Friday.
The convocation took place in the Bromeley Family Theater of Blaisdell Hall. The speaker was Jeff Guterman, associate professor of communications.
Among the 58 students honored were local students.
From Bradford were MacKenzie Hartle, a nursing major, a sophomore Academic Excellence Award; Austin Jadlowiec, an engineering major, a sophomore Academic Excellence Award; Emily Little, a general studies major, recognition as a University Scholar; Alyssa McGrew, a business management major, the David L. Blackmore Award for Excellence in Business; Buddy Miller, an applied mathematics and chemistry major, recognition as a University Scholar; Jarod Piccioli, an exercise science major, recognition as a University Scholar; Laura Tingley, nursing major, the BSN Student Nursing Award; and Brianna Wells, a a biology and pre-medicine major, recognition as a University Scholar;
From Cyclone: Katherine Treat, a biology major, a junior Academic Excellence Award, and was recognized as a University Scholar; From Eldred: John Manalaysay, computer information systems and technology major, a junior Academic Excellence Award, and was recognized as a University Scholar; From Johnsonburg: Andrea Allegretto, a nursing major, the ASN Excellence in Clinical Nursing Award; From Kersey: Mitchell Newara, computer information systems and technology major, a freshman Academic Excellence Award;
From Port Allegany: Malari Lapp, an English education 7-12 major, a senior Academic Excellence Award, the Education Student Award and was recognized as a University Scholar; and Shiyou Ou, computer information systems and technology major, a freshman Academic Excellence Award; From Ridgway: Devyn Condon, an English and public relations major, the James D. Guelfi Award in Public Relations; and Jenna Tomaski, a biology major, recognition as a University Scholar; and from Smethport: Brianna Henry, a writing major, the Robert C. Laing Creative Art Award in Writing.
