RIDGWAY — A Johnsonburg woman died from injuries suffered in a house fire late Tuesday.
Ridgway-based state police fire marshal Cpl. Greg Agosti said Geraldine Bauer, 71, of 216 Mill St., was trapped inside her two-story, wood-frame home when the accidental blaze began just before 8 p.m.
She was rescued from the home by members of the Johnsonburg and Wilcox fire departments, and transported to Penn Highlands Elk by St. Marys Ambulance.{/span}
Bauer was pronounced dead at 9:10 p.m. at Penn Highlands Elk.
The fire was investigated by Agosti, Johnsonburg Police and Fire departments.
Damage to the home was estimated at $50,000, police said.
