BROOKVILLE — Regan Johnson, Hannah Lary and Emily Bosworth put together strong performances once again to power the Lady Owls track and field team at the Brookville Invite on Saturday.
Johnson’s first-place winning 12.51 seconds in the 100 dash broke Bradford’s school record, topping her previous mark of 12.56 from 2017.
Johnson wasn’t done there, winning the 200 (26.05), placing second in the long jump (16-2.5) and anchoring the 4×100 relay team that finished second.
“We had a great day with many first place finishes and personal bests highlighted by Regan breaking her own school record in the 100,” BHS girls track coach Larry Stillman said. “She had an outstanding day in all her events. Emily and Hannah were excellent in the middle distance races showing themselves to be two of the best in our area.”
Bosworth took first place in the 800 with a time of 2:23.68 and then anchored both the 4×400 and 4×800 relay teams that took first place in times of 4:10.78 and 10:05.31, respectively.
Joining Bosworth on the 400 relay team was the trio of Erica Marshall, Mikah Watkins and Lary, while Marshall, Lucas and Lary were part of the 800 team.
Lary then topped off her impressive day with a second-place finish in 5:36.32 in the 1600 run.
Rounding out the runs were Alise Hassek in the 400 (sixth, 65.21), Shea Crissman (8th, 13:27.09) and Bethany Bednez (15th, 14:05.32) in the 3200. Lauren Placer took 14th in the 100 hurdles with a time of 20.29, while Haley Hallock placed 26th.
Marshall, meanwhile, capped off her day with a third-place time of 50 seconds in the 300 hurdles.
“Erica had a very good 300 hurdles race and helped all three relay hit season bests,” Stillman said. “Our 4 x 800 relay had one of the top times in school history and Erica, Mackenzie Hannah and Emily all ran well. Our 4×400 looked good a won a close race and all four girls — Erica, Hannah Emily and Mikah Watkins ran hard.”
The Lady Owls also had plenty of top 10 finishes in the jumps and throws. Mikayla Bond placed fifth in the high jump (4-6); Lucas third in the pole vault (8-6); Alexis Huber fourth in the pole vault (8-6); Lydia Pompa 10th in the javelin (91-2); and Kayelyn Eschrich 10th in the high jump (4-4).
Alix Ordiway placed 22nd and 15th in the long and triple jumps, respectively, while Pompa finished 21st in the discus and Abby Nuzzo 29th in the javelin.
“Lydia was over 90′ for the the third meet in a row in the javelin,” Stillman said. “Mikayla Bond was solid in the high jump as was Alix Ordiway in the triple jump. It was a very good day for our athletes.”
