A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail after allegedly threatening people with a knife Friday night.
Brian W. Wedge, 34, of 108 School St., was arraigned early Saturday morning before District Judge William Todd on two counts each of terroristic threats and possession of an offensive weapon, all first-degree misdemeanors; two counts of simple assault, second-degree misdemeanors; one count of disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor; and public drunkenness, a summary charge.
According to the criminal complaint, on Friday night in Bradford, Elizabeth Younes and Joshua Green were chasing their cat, trying to get it back into their house after it escaped. Wedge approached and asked multiple times why they were running; Green said they were getting their cat, then told him it was not Wedge’s business and he needed to get off their property.
Court records indicate Wedge then backed up, and Younes and Green went onto their porch with their 4-year-old child.
Wedge pulled out a large black “quick release” knife from his right front pocket and started saying, “If you wanna go, we’ll go,” the criminal complaint stated. He allegedly held the open knife in the air with the blade facing out, repeating his statement.
Younes and Green went into the house and called 911, and Wedge walked down the street and sat down. Bradford City Police located Wedge sitting on a stoop at 68 Mechanic St. Wedge waved to the officer and walked to the vehicle.
The officer patted Wedge down and allegedly found a knife clipped to his right front pocket, another clipped to his left front pocket and a Leatherman multi-tool in a sheath on his belt. The two knives are prohibited, as one opened by switch and the other by push button, court records stated.
Wedge is incarcerated in lieu of $20,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
