A pair of Lewis Run brothers have been charged with allegedly stealing scrap metal that belonged to McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.
Paul Conner Jr., 52, of 39 Rocky Run Road, and Michael Conner, 49, of 49 Rocky Run Road, were both charged with two counts of theft of secondary metal, second-degree misdemeanors; and receiving stolen property, third-degree misdemeanors.
According to court records, in March, a caretaker at the cemetery called police to report someone had taken a pile of scrap metal from the back of their property. He said he’d had problems with the Conners before. Police spoke to them, and they admitted taking the metal, records alleged.
Both are free on $2,500 unsecured bail. Paul Conner is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. May 6 before District Judge Dave Engman in Kane. He is represented by attorney Christopher Martini. Michael Conner is scheduled to appear in Central Court April 18.
