SMETHPORT — A Smethport man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old, and he assaulted the teen.
Wyatt D. Dean, 19, entered the plea to charges of statutory sexual assault: 4-8 years older and simple assault. Between July 14 and Dec. 30, Dean had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old female; He also hurt her by head-butting her, squeezing her and punching her, according to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer. He will be sentenced April 25.
Also in court, Amila R. Sprague, 32, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to one charge of recklessly endangering another person. Shaffer explained that Sprague smoked marijuana with a man in front of her young daughter, then left the girl in the man’s care, despite the fact that she had only known the male for a short time and didn’t even know his full name. The man fell asleep, and the child walked from the second floor apartment to the first floor, where she was located. Sprague will be sentenced May 9.
Ryan J. Thomas of Sheffield will serve one to two years in state prison with credit for 17 days of time served for charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct. On March 2, Thomas pleaded guilty to allegations that on Sept. 29, he struck another man in the face, causing a fracture, and he engaged in fighting on Reynolds Street in Kane. Thomas will also pay $1,187.97 in restitution.
Devon A. Pulido, 27, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of simple assault. Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill said that on Oct. 31, Pulido shoved a female, causing her to hit her head on a dresser. He will be sentenced April 25.
Paul T. Schwab, 29, of Eldred, pleaded guilty to a charge of simple assault. On Oct. 11, Schwab pushed his wife on the floor, held her there for a brief moment and spit on her; she suffered significant bruising, said Shaffer. He will be sentenced May 23.
Precious A. McBride, 41, of Pittsburgh, pleaded guilty to charges of theft by unlawful taking and criminal trespassing. Shaffer said that on Sept. 5, McBride entered by subterfuge 8 Elm St., Bradford, where he took an Xbox, DVD player and phone charging cord. He will be sentenced April 25.
Charles W. Yocum Jr., 20, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking. Assistant District Attorney Bridget Murphy said that on Oct. 27 and Nov. 23, Yocum took a total of $800 cash from the Sheetz in Hamlin Township. He will be sentenced April 25.
Ashley N. Haight, 29, of Kane, pleaded guilty to charges of theft by unlawful taking and possession of access device knowing counterfeit or altered. On Nov. 4, Haight stole someone’s bank card, said Grill. She will be sentenced April 25.
Robert D. Reed, 53, of Allegany, N.Y., pleaded guilty to a charge of retail theft. On Dec. 21, Reed took $82.99 in merchandise from the Walmart in Foster Township, according to Murphy. He will be sentenced April 11.
Accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program were Tiffany N. Patrick, 23, of Bradford, for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; and Tiffany L. Mushaweck, 29, of Olean, N.Y., and Mark A. Aultman, 37, of Franklinville, N.Y., both for DUI-alcohol.
