CANDY: Did you know more money is spent on candy for Easter than for Halloween?
That’s according to the website for Candy Store, which also ranks what people thought was the worst Easter candy out there. We can’t say we agree.
Number 10 was Fluffy Stuff Cotton Tails, packaged cotton candy. It seems most disagreement is that it shouldn’t be included in the Easter category. Number 9 is Jordan Almonds, followed by Hershey’s Kisses in carrot cake flavor at number 8.
Chocolate crosses are a number 7, more for the fact that the cross was an instrument of death than for the flavor of the chocolate. We always thought that was a bit strange, too.
Number 6 is generic jelly beans; here’s a place where folks say brand names are best.
Solid chocolate bunnies are at number 5, just because there’s too much there. Some are 12 ounces — the equivalent of nearly 8 Hershey bars. A bit much for one sitting.
Number 4 is chicks and rabbits marshmallow candy, which people complained were circus peanuts in disguise.
Number 3 — and we think this is a travesty to a Pennsylvania favorite — is the Peep. Critics said they have a weird texture and are fun to look at, but not to eat.
Number two was Easter candy corn, a treat people compared to colorful wax.
And number one is the Cadbury Creme Egg — a mess to eat.
What do you think of the list?
