An open house will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. April 13 at the Coleman Center in Eldred for Roland and June Kio in honor of their 70th wedding anniversary.

Roland Kio is the son of the late Byron and Etha Kio and June Kio is the daughter of the late George and Emma Nicklaus. They were married on April 16, 1949, in Roulette.

Mr. Kio was employed by the Eldred division of Ethan Allen, then Graham Packaging in Bradford for many years before retiring. Mrs. Kio was employed by the Eldred division of Ethan Allen until her retirement. Since retirement, they have enjoyed spending winters in Florida and gardening at their Eldred home, as well as spending time with their children and grandchildren.

The event will be hosted by their children and their spouses, Ken (Judy) Kio of Eldred, George (Barbara) Kio of McKinney, Texas, Bradley (Ginger) Kio of York Haven and Gail (Jerry Kelly) of Bradford. The couple have seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

They belong to the Duke Center United Methodist Church and have been longtime members of the Eastern Star and the Eldred Senior Center.
