SMETHPORT — The last of four defendants charged in a 2018 McKean County methamphetamine ring was sentenced Thursday at the McKean County Courthouse to spend time in state prison.
Corry Robinson, 35, of Bradford, will serve six to 12 years in state prison, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer announced.
After a three-day trial in January, a jury found Robinson guilty Jan. 31 to charges of conspiracy to manufacture over 1,000 grams of methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess precursor chemicals with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine and conspiracy-operation of a methamphetamine lab, all felonies; conspiracy-risking a catastrophe, a third-degree felony; and recklessly endangering another person, a second-degree misdemeanor, said Shaffer.
Robinson’s three codefendants have already entered guilty pleas and were sentenced.
The meth lab was first discovered Jan. 24, 2018, when a state parole agent went to Robinson’s 246 E. Main St., Bradford, apartment to check on his well-being, as he was on state parole. The agent found a “shake and bake” meth lab.
Court records filed at the time Robinson was charged indicated that he, as well as Crystal Robinson, were purchasing ephedrine for Joshua Safford, who was the “cook” for the East Main Street lab. Mindy Nichols of Smethport was also accused of purchasing ephedrine for Safford, as well as allowing him to cook meth in her home.
Safford was sentenced to one to two years in state prison, Nichols to 22 to 44 months in state prison and Crystal Robinson to nine days to 23½ months in the McKean County Jail.
