ELDRED — Two straight days of dominant pitching has led Otto-Eldred to a hot start to its 2019 season.
After giving up four runs in the first inning of Monday’s season opener, the Terrors (2-0, 1-0) have now blanked opponents in 13 straight frames.
On Tuesday, Chase and Cole Sebastian combined for 15 strikeouts on the mound to shut out Port Allegany and help the Terrors claim a 4-0 Northern Allegany League victory.
Chase Sebastian pitched into the third inning and recorded seven Ks, while Cole Sebastian hurled three innings of scoreless ball and got eight of his nine batters via strikeout.
“Our pitching has been coming through,” O-E head coach Jame Thomas said. “Been doing real well there and our defense hasn’t hurt us at all. Can’t complain at all right now.”
The Terrors did just enough at the plate on Tuesday and got plenty of help from some shaky Port Allegany defense. The Gators (0-1, 0-1) committed four errors in the game, two of which directly led to O-E runs.
T.J. VanScoter notched two hits and an RBI at the plate for the Terrors, and Cameron Magee also had two hits.
Port Allegany’s Howie Stuckey struck out eight and allowed just one run over three innings of work.
Both teams are back on the diamond Thursday.

COUDERSPORT — Kolby VanWhy and Jackson Glover combined to spin a no-hitter as the Falcons dominated Galeton in their 2019 season opener.
VanWhy struck out seven Tiger batters through four innings of work before Glover pitched a perfect fifth and final inning.
“Kolby went out there and threw his no-hitter, and I wasn’t even really paying attention to that,” Coudersport (1-0, 1-0) coach Doug McClintic said. “I was more impressed by him throwing strikes.”
VanWhy also had a strong game at the dish, registering a triple and three RBI.
Eli Ayers picked up two hits and two RBI, while Glover and Blake Burgett each had doubles.
“First of all, it was just good to get out there and play. This was only our second day outside,” McClintic said. “I was pleased with the boys that they came out and were aggressive.”
Galeton (0-1, 0-1) competing in its first season of a co-op agreement with Northern Potter, got three innings on the mound from Tre Slawson.
Originally scheduled for Thursday, the Falcons will now travel to Cowanesque Valley for a contest this afternoon.
