ST. MARYS — Charges have been filed against two men accused of methamphetamine- and marijuana-related allegations stemming from a traffic stop in St. Marys.
St. Marys City police announced on Monday that charges have been filed against James M. Dutka Jr., 37, of St. Marys, and Jason A. Chicola, 38, of Brockway. The pair was stopped at 11:22 p.m. Feb. 28 on South St. Marys Street.
Officers seized about six grams of methamphetamine and 14 grams of marijuana, police reported.
According to police, Dutka has been charged with two counts each of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy-possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, all felonies; and one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
Chicola is charged with two counts of conspiracy-possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, all felonies; possession of drug paraphernalia and false identification, both misdemeanors; and three summary traffic violations, police stated.
Court records indicate that both men have preliminary hearings scheduled for April 30.
