KANE –– A man suffered serious injuries as a result of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 219 early Thursday, just south of the Tack’s Inn intersection with Route 59.
Lewis Run-based state police said at 7:42 a.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to the crash.
A full-size pickup truck, operated by Timothy Butler, 63, of Bradford, was traveling north when, while traveling around a curve, it crossed the double yellow line and struck head-on a dump truck operated by Zachary Hall, 27, of Orchard Park, N.Y.
The pickup truck came to a stop facing south against guardrails and the dump truck came to a rest in the southbound lane facing south.
According to state police, Butler suffered serious injuries and was flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie while Hall sustained minor injuries but was not transported.
Efforts to reach Lafayette Volunteer Fire Department and to acquire additional information from the McKean County Department of Emergency Services were unsuccessful.
The investigation of the crash is still ongoing.
Mount Jewett Fire Department closed down Route 219 at Lantz Corners. Officials said the road was closed for about 2.5 hours.
