Bradford junior point guard Tyler Gigliotti was rewarded for another strong season with the top honor in the District 9 League.
Gigliotti, needing less than 20 points for 1,000 in his career, led the Owls to a trip to the Class AAAA title game against Clearfield this year and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player.
He averaged 18.2 points per game in 24 contests for Bradford, and also led the team in assists.
The rest of the D9 boys all-stars includes Alex Breindel (senior, Elk Catholic); Chase Husted (junior, DuBois); Aaron Park (junior, Brookville); Cahil Parrish (junior, St. Marys); Regis Wortman (junior, Elk Catholic); Alec Wehler (senior, Elk Catholic); Jonathan Cruz (senior, DuBois); Jack Krug (sophomore, Brookville); and Ethan Blose (senior, Punxsy).
On the girls side, Bradford junior Erica Marshall and sophomore Hannah Lary were named to the all-star team. The two guards led the Lady Owls to a 7-15 record on the year that included a four-game win streak.
Elk Catholic junior Taylor Newton was named the league’s MVP on the girls side. Newton ranked sixth in District 9 scoring with 17 points per game. Other honorees to the all-star team were Kate Horner (senior, Punxsy); Marcy Schindler (junior, Brookville); Sarah Weaver (sophomore, Punxsy); Chelsea DeSalve (senior, DuBois); Megan Quesenberry (junior, St. Marys); Morgan Johnson (junior, Brookville); Riley Presloid (sophomore, Punxsy).
