CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation) is advising motorists that a one-lane traffic pattern and stop condition has been placed on a section of Route 144 in Potter County.

Due to a slide condition along the roadway, PennDOT is restricting the northbound lane on a section of Route 144, about 1 ½ miles south of Galeton. The self-regulating stop will enforce an alternating traffic pattern through the area.

Drivers will also encounter advance signage and message boards alerting them to the stop condition and alternating traffic pattern.

This traffic pattern will be in effect until funding is secured to resolve the situation. PennDOT reminds drivers to always buckle up and obey posted speed limits.
