RIDGWAY — A handgun stolen more than three decades ago from Ridgway has been recovered in California.
Ridgway Borough Police reported that the Raven P25 handgun in question was taken from a vehicle on Nov. 13, 1983. The Moreno Valley (Calif.) Police Department recovered the handgun March 30, 2018, from an 18-year-old male gang member.
The gun had been missing for twice as long as the male has been alive.
Moreno Valley police returned the handgun to Ridgway police on Tuesday, as the California case is now adjudicated.
