DUKE CENTER — The Otto Township supervisors, including the newly appointed Eric Barton, were presented with several community projects, suggestions and questions at their monthly meeting Wednesday night.
Chairman Richard Rivers reported that the blight committee is proceeding with the legal work necessary to update and enforce the ordinances. A suggestion was made to advertise all township meetings to hopefully get more citizens involved.
Sharon Schwab announced that the annual Cash Bash, benefiting the “world famous” Old Home Days fireworks will be held May 11th at the fire hall on Sweitzer Drive. Tickets are available at Jim Coast Sales or the Y Bar. Park committee chairman Rob Stuck asked about funds being available for various improvements. He was advised to get quotes and samples to present to the supervisors. The park committee will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Y Bar. Interested residents are welcome to attend.
Roadmaster Mark Palmer reported that plowing and repairing township roads is continuing with minimal delays. New time cards and logs are in the works for all workers to account for their time on each job.
Spring clean-up is scheduled for June 10. Details will be announced soon, including the protocol for disposal of electronics, including televisions.
