EMPORIUM — The Cameron County Project announced it has been awarded a grant of $12,500 from its partners at the Pennsylvania Humanities Council.
This funding will be used for the ongoing efforts at cultivating Community Heart & Soul in 2019 as the organization works through Phase 2 — “Explore Your Community” — and Phase 3 — “Make Decisions” — of the Community Heart and Soul model.
“As we really gain momentum with our Phase 2 efforts of gathering stories from residents and conducting Heart and Soul interviews, this funding will be crucial in ensuring we reach every one of our neighbors across the county, share the stories we’re gathering, and enable us to host events that invite the community to review our work and help our team develop implementable actions based on what residents have voiced as their values, hopes, concerns and calls to action,” said Jess Herzing, project coordinator.
She continued, “It is through the continued support by Cameron County residents, local government and area organizations, in conjunction with our ongoing partnership with the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and Orton Family Foundation, that the Cameron County Project can facilitate this type of county-wide, resident-driven visioning about Cameron County’s future.”
