A Ridgway man who allegedly threatened to stab his mother is facing a felony threat charge, along with other charges.
Michael C. Anderson, 40, of 213 Main St., Apt. 1, was arraigned Monday before District Judge David Engman on charges of terroristic threats, a third-degree felony; simple assault and resisting arrest, second-degree misdemeanors; harassment and criminal mischief, third-degree misdemeanors.
The criminal complaint states that at 6:49 p.m. Thursday, several state troopers were dispatched to U.S. Route 6 in Wetmore Township for a report of an domestic dispute between a mother and son.
Anderson allegedly told his mother he was going stab someone and stab himself. She told him, “Don’t stab me I don’t want to die,” while he told her, “I will drop you off somewhere and will not come back for you” and “…you need to get out of here it’s not going to be good,” according to the complaint.
She left the home and went to her vehicle for safety while calling the police. While she was in the vehicle, Anderson began banging on all the windows saying, “…let me take the vehicle I want to get out of here,” the complaint stated.
Anderson went back into the house, and when state police arrived, they started knocking on the door and yelling, trying to make contact with him. He left through the rear exit at 8:35 p.m. and “was advancing toward troopers in an aggressive manner. Michael ignored commands and continued to charge the troopers, subsequently being tazed,” the complaint stated.
Another witness told police that at 6:30 p.m., he heard Anderson allegedly say, “It’s the last straw I’m gonna stab her.” He also showed police holes Anderson made in the wall, according to court records.
Anderson was committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on March 7.
