SMETHPORT — A Bradford man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to allegations in two crack cocaine deliveries.
Leonard E. Elder III, 27, entered a plea in one case to conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and, in the second case, to possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer said that on Sept. 19 Elder delivered about 0.5 grams of crack cocaine to a confidential informant with the McKean County Drug Task Force; then, on Dec. 18, he conspired with Mitchell Garner to deliver 0.8 grams of crack cocaine to a task force informant.
He will be sentenced Feb. 28.
Also in court, Armando L. Aponte, 37, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to simple assault. On April 12, Aponte struck a woman, according to Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill. Aponte will be sentenced Feb. 28.
Devin J. Ortz, 18, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of resisting arrest and a summary charge. On Nov. 23, Ortz resisted arrest, refusing to be handcuffed. He told Bradford City Police he would not go anywhere, and he shoved an officer, Shaffer said. Ortz will be sentenced March 14.
Dakota A. Parson, 19, of Pleasant Gap, will serve six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program for charges of DUI-controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Christopher M. Mawn, 22, of Duke Center, will werve six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program for charges of DUI-controlled substance.
Accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program were Shalayia Ferguson, 23, of Erie, for access device fraud; Blake J. Duell, 21, of Bradford, for DUI-controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana for personal use; Kenneth J. Scanlon, 51, of Bradford, for retail theft; and Hunter T. Balliet of Butler, Dustin B. Bankston, 20, of Summit, Miss., and Cindy L. Davenport, 46, of Bradford, all for DUI-alcohol.
Meanwhile, these four men were sentenced Feb. 5 in McKean County Court for charges stemming from an assault on July 5, 2018, in Bradford City: Matthew Bundy, 28, of Oil City; Mitchell K. Schillinger, 25, of Bradford, David L. Humphrey, 27, of Bradford; and Chad Mahaney, 26, of Bradford.
Each will serve 10 days to 18 months in McKean County Jail for a charge of simple assault, court records indicate. All four previously pleaded guilty to allegations they assaulted a man at the Lighter Side bar.
