SMETHPORT (EC) — On Jan. 2, Rob Dickinson of Smethport started his duties as client relationship manager for Penn State Extension Area 2 that covers McKean, Warren, Potter, Elk, Cameron, Clarion, Jefferson and Clearfield counties.
His responsibilities include being a liaison between county commissioners, county extension councils and the public, maintaining knowledge of organization programs and services and working with program teams and educators to deliver services to meet local needs.
Prior to his new job, Dickinson was a teacher at the Otto-Eldred Elementary School for 17 years.
A native of Smethport, he holds a bachelor’s degree in physical geography with a concentration in geographic information systems. He received his teaching certification from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction — principal’s certification — from Gannon University.
Active in community organizations, Dickinson most recently served as a member of the Penn State Extension McKean County Advisory Council.
