Bradford City Police raided a home Saturday with a suspected methamphetamine manufacturing operation, police and McKean County District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reported.
Police were responding to a tip they received.
Authorities have not yet released the address of the residence nor any names of people who under investigation.
City police contacted McKean County Detectives, who confirmed the “one-pot” operation, law enforcement said. Detectives called the Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Lab Team to assist, too.
During the raid, members of the lab team seized the alleged one-pot bottle, as well as other bottles suspected to have been used in manufacturing meth. Other items which were identified as ingredients in the meth manufacturing process were also discovered and seized, according to law enforcement officials.
“Methamphetamine manufacturing is extremely dangerous to residents and first responders due to its explosive nature. In nearly every meth investigation, evidence of a fire is found,” Shaffer explained. “The ingredients of methamphetamine are extremely unstable when mixed and can ignite or explode easily.”
Shaffer added, “If someone comes into contact with suspected meth manufacturing, they should immediately call 911 and evacuate that location.”
The investigation is ongoing and anyone who has additional information is asked to contact the Bradford City Police Department.
Anyone who suspects illegal drug activity is asked to report it to the McKean County Drug Task Force at the District Attorney’s Office at 887-3312 x3 or by email at mcdtftip@gmail.com
