The Bradford Family YMCA, in conjunction with the education department of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, are welcoming all families in the community to a fun filled, educational night at the Bradford YMCA on Feb. 7.
The event will be free and targeted at all school-age children up to the 6th grade. The event will include both educational and fitness components for youth in attendance. Activities include health and physical education with games such as bowling, snowball cup knock over, hula hoop toss and flinch ball. There are many STEM activities planned including building and creating frozen snow forts, bucket towers, and catapult launches.
The event will have many other education centers including hands-on activities such as tic tac toe, watercolor snowflakes, math Jenga, sensory bin, do-it-yourself bookmark, and moon sand. The YMCA will also have the giant inflatable obstacle course and slide available for youth participating in the event.
Brent Raabe, Bradford YMCA associate executive director, said, “The Bradford YMCA is excited to partner with the University of Pittsburgh and their educational department to offer this fun-filled educational evening free to our area’s youth population. Thank you to Suzy Zirkle, UPB and all those who have made this event possible for the community.”
The event will begin at 6 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required.
