SMETHPORT — A Franklinville, N.Y., man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to allegations that he assaulted a child.
Julian M. Ruibal, 25, entered the plea to a charge of simple assault. Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill said that on April 10, Ruibal struck a 2-year-old child, causing red marks and bruising. Ruibal will be sentenced Feb. 28.
Also in court, Merry B. Reynolds, 50, of Lewis Run, pleaded guilty to charges of buying/exchanging federal food stamps and access device fraud. On Aug. 8, 2017, Reynolds used an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card belonging to another person — with permission from the card user — to purchase $194 of consumable goods in exchange for $100 cash, according to Grill. She did not have permission from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to use the SNAP benefits. She will be sentenced March 14.
Troy A. Schuppenhauer, 29, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal attempted burglary. On Nov. 10, Schuppenhauer entered 444 High St., Bradford, to commit theft, Grill said. He will be sentenced Feb. 28.
Amanda S. Allen, 36, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of simple assault. According to Grill, on Oct. 22, Allen struck a woman in the head. She will be sentenced Feb. 28.
Alexander F. Wolfe, 28, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He will serve one year of probation.
The following people were accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program: Andrew E. Schoonmaker, 35, of Lewis Run, for possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI-controlled substance; Anne L. Steel, 44, of Duke Center, for DUI-alcohol and controlled substance; Austin M. Jadlowiec, 18, of Bradford, for DUI-controlled substance; Shaun R. Ferchak, 37, of Bradford, and Jillian F. Greene, 39, of Shinglehouse, both for DUI-alcohol.
