A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly being in possession of methamphetamine and materials used to make the drug when his bicycle was stopped by police.
Jonathan William Colts, 33, of 1144 South Ave., is charged with possession of meth and of paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
At 12:11 p.m. Jan. 18, a Bradford City police officer was driving along Forman Street when he saw Colts ride by on his bicycle. The officer checked and saw that there was an outstanding warrant for Colts’ arrest. He stopped Colts’ bicycle on Hilton Street and took him into custody.
When Colts was searched, officers found coffee filters, instant ice packs, a syringe, a butane lighter, electrical tape and a receipt for lithium batteries — all items that can be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, according to court records.
Colts was taken to Bradford City police station and was searched more thoroughly. The officer found two small baggies, one of which contained a white powdery substance that tested as methamphetamine, the court records alleged.
Colts was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Dom Cercone on these allegations, and was remanded to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court Feb. 7.
