ART IN NATURE: There are many opportunities to capture the beauty of nature in the Pennsylvania Wilds.
Members of the PA Route 6 Artisan Trail may be able to share their vision of Pennsylvania’s beauty, as representatives of the PA Route 6 Artisan Trail are looking to feature local photographs through a variety of projects.
April is Artisan Trail Month, the group notes.
“The Artisan Trail is planning its 2019 Traveling Display, poster, postcards, and for 2020, an 18-month calendar, all with the theme ‘Art in Nature,’” a press release on the project stated.
To this end, the group is looking for quality digital photos.
Project organizers explain what they are looking for this way:
“Do you have work that fits this theme? Some is obvious, like photos of our amazing natural world or images of driftwood sculptures. Think deeper. Do you use local, natural materials in your work? Do you represent themes or subjects that highlight the natural world in our region? How do you celebrate nature in your work?”
To submit an entry, visit www.paroute6.com/artisan-trail/artisan-trail-exhibit-form
A form can be found here, which can be returned with up to three high resolution digital images and a brief explanation of how they correspond to the theme.
Images can also be sent directly to artisan@paroute6.com.
The deadline for submissions is Feb. 8.
The group will choose one image for the poster, 18 for the calendar and up to 30 for the Traveling Display.
Membership into the Artisan Trail is open to artists, artisans and sites such as studios located along Pennsylvania’s U.S. Route 6.
If you’re not an artist or artisan, you can still enjoy the completed projects.
In fact, in July 2018, the traveling exhibit made a stop in Bradford at the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau on East Corydon Street.
