Mackenzie Lucas and Emma Webster each quadrupled and Julia Moini tripled to lead Bradford High’s girls swim team to a 107-63 victory over visiting Brookville on Monday.
In the boys portion of the meet, the Raiders rolled to a 101-64 victory over the under-manned Owls squad.
Lucas’ four firsts came in the 50 free, 100 back and two relays, while Webster won the 200 IM, 100 free and was a member of the same two relays.
Moini won the 100 fly and also swam on the two relays.
Abbie Nuzzo and Emilie Reitler each came up with a double to help the Lady Owls square their record at 1-1.
“Our girls have a strong core group and we can count on our relays to do whatever we need,” said Bradford coach Chelsea Schwab.”This year we added some depth with Grace Dalton, Abbie Nuzzo, Connor Gracey-Dalton, Bailey Fedak and Alex Safran. We’re excited about the season.”
The Owls boys team remains short in numbers, but Schwab was pleased with the effort.
“Tyler Sortore had great performance today,” Schwab noted. “He really broke out in his events and got our boys some needed points. They are all working hard to be competitive for the end of the season and districts, especially the boys because of their low numbers.”
Sortore doubled in the meet, along with teammate Karl Gangloff.
“Today we saw great times from both the girls and boys and saw more personal records than we expected this early in the season. Both teams are improving each week,” Schwab added.
Bradford is back in action on Thursday at St. Marys.
