SMETHPORT — A Bradford man accused of trespassing, fleeing from police and soliciting someone to tamper with the locks on the truck from the police chase will serve time in state prison.
Christopher D. Salonis, 43, will serve two to four years in state prison with credit of 267 days of time served for charges in the three cases. He’s charged in one case with criminal trespassing; in the second with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, DUI-general impairment and a summary charge; and in the third with criminal solicitation to tamper with physical evidence.
On Dec. 20, Salonis pleaded guilty to allegations that on Jan. 4, 2018, he entered 71 School St., Bradford, when the property was secured; on Jan. 8, 2018, police officers tried to pull him over when he was driving with a suspended driver’s license while under the influence of alcohol but he failed to stop; then, between Jan. 9-26, 2018, he solicited Irene Salonis to tamper with physical evidence — the truck he drove in the police chase — by changing the lock mechanisms so the keys would not work in the ignition or the door.
