A Bradford man accused of threatening his roommate with a knife is in McKean County Jail.
Angelo Mininni, 49, of 106 Rockland Ave., Bradford, was arraigned early Tuesday morning before District Judge David Engman on a single charge of terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor.
At 3:36 a.m. Tuesday, a Bradford City Police officer was dispatched to 106 Rockland Ave. for a dispute involving a knife. There, the officer talked to Mininni, who was intoxicated and bleeding from his mouth, the criminal complaint stated.
According to the complaint, Mininni told the officer that John Hitchcock, who also lives there, punched Mininni in the face.
When the officer talked to Hitchcock, he learned the pair was arguing about the fact that Mininni was intoxicated; at one point, Mininni came out of his bedroom carrying a large knife over his head and began to go after Hitchcock, court records stated. Mininni allegedly told Hitchcock he was going to stab him and burn his house down.
Hitchcock told the officer he punched Mininni in the face once to avoid getting stabbed when Mininni got close to him, according to the complaint.
Court records indicated the officer found the knife used in the alleged threat on the bed in Mininni’s room, and he found a small box cutter-style knife on Mininni’s person, too.
Mininni was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Jan. 17.
This is not the first time Mininni has been accused of approaching someone with a knife.
Court records indicate he is still under the supervision of the McKean County Probation Department for a similar previous case.
On June 14, Mininni was sentenced to six to 18 months in McKean County Jail with credit for 106 days of time served for a charge of terroristic threats. He had pleaded guilty to allegations that on Feb. 28, he threatened to kill a woman with a knife.
