Megan Quesenberry and Kaylee Muccio combined for 30 points to lead visiting St. Marys to a 59-28 victory over Bradford, spoiling the Lady Owls District 9 League opener.
Quesenberry led all scorers with 16 points, while Muccio added 14. Altogether nine Lady Dutch players put points on the board.
Bradford’s problems started with the loss of Kelcie Moffett, who left the team, and was followed by an injury to Morgan Tyger.
“Kelcie is no longer with us and Morgan went down with an ankle injury two minutes in,” said Bradford coach Bob Hannon. “We are going to have to find a new identity without Kelcie and the injury to Morgan. We needed contributions from everyone and didn’t get enough help.
“St. Marys was physical, played hard and shot well. We just didn’t have enough to keep up with them,” Hannon added.
The Lady Dutch, now 2-0 in D-9 play, built a 23-8 lead by halftime and were on their way to their 7th overall win of the season.
Erica Marshall led Bradford with 13 points.
The Lady Owls (1-7, 0-1 D-9) return to action today at Warren. The game times have been moved up with JVs at 1 p.m. and varsity at 2:30 p.m.
