POEM: I Believe in Santa — this timely poem comes to us from Donald Neal.
The pilot of a huge airliner,
Flying high in the darkened skies
Saw something he had heard about.
Now it was right before his eyes,
A sleigh pulled by eight tiny reindeer,
Was flying off his left wing
With a driver dressed all in red
And the sleigh full of toys and everything
The driver called out to his team
And all of a sudden they were gone.
Santa had to visit all the children in the world
And be home at the break of dawn.
The pilot said that is hard to believe
That sleigh was right there, now it is out of sight,
That must have been Santa Claus,
Delivering gifts to the children tonight.
What a wonderful sight to see,
Saint Nicholas and his sleigh.
Bringing the gift of happiness,
To the children on Christmas Day.
He thought about his own wife and children,
And being home on Christmas Day.
And he thought about all his passengers,
Getting them home without delay.
When setting down to land his plane,
He saw another wonderful sight.
Hoof prints in the snow on the roofs,
Santa had been there this night.
You may not believe in Santa Claus,
As for me I do believe.
If you want to see what I have seen,
Come fly with me on Christmas Eve.
