AUSTIN — While Coudersport has grabbed most of the attention in the North Tier League this season with its hot start, the Cameron County have also handled its business in every league game so far.
Jake Walters recorded a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds as Cameron County beat Austin 61-46 for its sixth consecutive victory on Friday.
After losing to Ridgway in double overtime in its season opener, Cameron Co. has won by double figures in each of the last six games.
Caden Beldin also keyed the Red Raiders= (6-1, 6-0) offense with 16 points.
Cameron County used a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter to set the tone and went on to maintain the advantage through the remaining three quarters of the game.
Offensively for Austin, Jackson Glover recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Glover also had seven assists.
Blake Burgett added 12 points for the Panthers (3-5, 1-3).
Cameron County is idle until Jan. 3, when they host Otto-Eldred.

ULYSSES — Port Allegany used a 17-point first quarter to start strong and stay ahead en route to a 59-50 win over Northern Potter Friday.
Jordan Card scored 18 points to lead the Gators, while AJ Edgell posted 10.
Holden Cowburn keyed the Northern Potter offense with 24 points, and Ezra Sprow pulled down 12 rebounds.
“It was a slow start for our guys. We held their top scorer to nine. We just have to find a way to start off better, but we are getting there,” said Derek Erway, Northern Potter coach.

GALETON — Isaiah Shuemaker posted 22 points while Joel Griffen and Evan Brooks each scored 16 for Galeton to ensure a 75-36 win over Oswayo Valley.
Noah Wichert scored eight points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Green Wave (1-7, 0-4).
Galeton (4-3, 2-3) used a 31-point first quarter and a 48-18 halftime advantage to push through to victory.
“Galeton has a three-headed monster in Brooks, Shuemaker and Griffen. They are tough to guard, quick and athletic and were a problem for our defense,” said Nick Goss, Oswayo Valley coach.
