The United Way of the Bradford Area has reached 90 percent of its campaign goal.
Campaign chair Theresa Funk said, “I am very excited we have reached 90 percent of the campaign goal and this would not have happened without the efforts of our community members. But, we still have a percentage to obtain so we can meet the needs of the organizations we fund.
“Without the 100 percent effort, we will have to cut in some areas of our budget and that means people go without,” Funk said. “I have complete faith our local companies and community members will pull through to help us.”
Executive Director Paige LaBrozzi added, “This is the last call for donations to be made for the 2018 – 2019 campaign. We have been making big strides the last couple of weeks and I see that momentum continuing until we officially close the campaign on January 5 of 2019.”
United Way board President Karen Costello-Pecht said, “On behalf of the board of directors, we want everyone to know how grateful we are to the generous donors who believe in the United Way’s mission as strongly as we do. We still have a ways to go but are confident we will attain this year’s goal.”
Funds donated to the United Way of the Bradford Area stay in the community. Funding allocations from the United Way begin Jan. 2.
LaBrozzi said, “We are funding important agencies that provide vital programs to our family, friends and neighbors. Without your help and the positivity to make this place we call home a better place to be, we would not be able to make the contributions we make year after year. We Are The Change — you, me and everyone who has given. Join Us – Be The Change. Make your pledge today.”
The local United Way will continue to accept donations to be allocated to the 2019 calendar year through Jan. 5. Funds received after this date will be allocated to next campaign season.
