SMETHPORT — A Bradford man accused of assaulting another man with a brick in 2016 was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court to a term in state prison.
Daniel L. Hazzard, 30, will serve 2 ¼ to 4 ½ years in state prison and pay $2,757.63 in restitution for a charge of aggravated assault. On Dec. 6, he pleaded guilty to allegations that on Nov. 6, 2016, he struck a man in the face with a brick, causing a lost tooth and loose teeth; the man suffered a fractured foot, too.
Also in court, Christopher D. Salonis, 42, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges in three cases, while his wife, Irene M. Salonis, 46, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to allegations she conspired in one of the cases. Christopher Salonis is charged in one case with criminal trespassing, in a second with criminal solicitation and in a third with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, DUI-general impairment and a summary charge. Irene Salonis pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal conspiracy to tamper with physical evidence.
According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, on Jan. 4, Christopher Salonis entered 71 School St., Bradford, when the property was secured. On Jan. 8, police officers tried to pull him over when he was driving with a suspended driver’s license while under the influence of alcohol but he failed to stop; then, between Jan. 9-26, he solicited Irene Salonis to tamper with physical evidence — the truck he drove in the police chase — by changing the lock mechanisms so the keys would not work in the ignition or the door.
They will be sentenced Jan. 10.
Ty Hallock, 19, of Smethport, will serve six months to two years in state prison for charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. According to Shaffer, on Aug. 25, Hallock, who was wanted on an active warrant for absconding from supervision, was spotted by a Bradford City police officer. He fled, despite being ordered to stop, then entered into a physical struggle with police. During the struggle, he yelled and spit into an officer’s mouth.

Bryan will serve 10 days to one year in McKean County Jail with credit for eight days of time served.
Joseph J. Orris, 31, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of forgery, false identification to a law enforcement officer and a summary charge. On July 13, Orris presented false identification to a police officer, purporting to be his brother, Shaffer said. He will be sentenced Jan. 10.
Zachery S. Malobicky, 20, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of furnishing drug-free urine. According to Shaffer, on Oct. 4, Malobicky, who was on probation, used drug-free urine that was not his to get a negative drug screen. He will be sentenced Jan. 10.
John M. Schlopy, 31, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of false reports-reported offense did not occur. On Jan. 15, Schlopy reported to Kane Borough Police that someone entered his apartment and removed items, but the report turned out to be false, Grill said. Schlopy will be sentenced Jan. 24.
