AUSTIN — Start the new year on the right foot with a First Day Hike on Jan. 1 at Sinnemahoning State Park.
This free program will meet at the Wildlife Center at noon and return to the Wildlife Center around 2 p.m. No pre-registration is required for participation.
Enjoy the scenic outdoors while on an easy 2.5-mile guided hike on fairly level trails near the Wildlife Center. Search for dens, nests, and other animal signs, as you learn about Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ trail system and additional hiking and outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the coming year.
Hikers should dress for the weather, bring water and wear waterproof shoes or boots. Well-behaved dogs are welcome if on a leash 6-foot or less. Program will be held regardless of weather. For current road conditions, call the park office.
