It was a peaceful resolution to what could have been a serious incident Thursday afternoon on South Center Street in Bradford.
Around 5 p.m. Thursday, Bradford City Police were called for a report of a non-violent domestic incident on South Center Street. When officers arrived, “the female subject advised it was a non-physical domestic incident,” Chief Chris Lucco explained.
However, she told police the male subject was in a bedroom upstairs, and may have access to a firearm.
“We handled the situation as a barricaded male with a firearm,” Lucco said.
He said the male refused to come out. Police spoke to him for about 30 minutes, at which time the man surrendered to police peacefully.
“I did not see a gun on a cursory search,” Lucco said. “It was a very minor incident, but there had been a possibility of a barricaded subject with a firearm.”
No one was hurt, and the situation was peacefully resolved, the chief reiterated.
