A second woman accused in an alleged robbery was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone.
Tiffany L. Tarr, 22, of 6 Foster View Drive, Bradford, is charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, both third-degree felonies; theft by unlawful taking and conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking, both third-degree misdemeanors.
According to court records, Tarr conspired with Bobbi J. Smith, 33, of Bradford, to take money from a woman by force.
The criminal complaint states that at 3 p.m. Nov. 15, the alleged victim agreed to lend Smith $20, but when Smith and Tarr arrived at the woman’s home, they informed her they planned to use the money to buy drugs. The woman refused to give them money for drugs, and they began arguing.
Smith allegedly became violent, punching the woman in the face, and tackling her to the ground in front of the woman’s child and grabbing the $20 bill. Smith told Tarr to grab another $20 bill that was sitting on a counter; Tarr complied, the complaint stated.
Smith continued to assault the woman, pulling her hair from her head, spitting on her and biting her; Smith tried to hit the woman in the head with a brick, but missed, hitting the wall, court records stated. She also allegedly swung a hammer at the woman’s head, but the woman evaded the swing.
Tarr and Smith ran from the apartment, each still carrying a $20 bill, and left in different directions, according to the complaint.
Tarr’s bail was set at $1,500, and she is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
Smith, who faces the same charges as Tarr along with additional charges including aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime, had her charges bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing Dec. 5.
