SMETHPORT — On Wednesday, a McKean County jury found an Olean, N.Y., man guilty of delivering morphine pills.
Jeremy M. Carrier, 32, was convicted after a two-day trial in McKean County Court of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony, and criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reported.
According to Shaffer, on Jan. 11, 2017, Carrier sold morphine pills in Foster Township and used a cell phone to arrange the sale. She noted that morphine is a Schedule II narcotic under the Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act.
Shaffer prosecuted the case, and Public Defender Phil Clabaugh represented Carrier. The trial was heard before President Judge John Pavlock.
The McKean County Drug Task Force investigated the case, said Shaffer.
Carrier will be sentenced at 1 p.m. Jan. 10.
