THIS IS US: Stop the presses!
The newsroom started getting phone calls just after 10 p.m. Tuesday to tell us about a shocking plot twist on the popular television show “This Is Us.”
Apparently — spoiler alert to anyone who hasn’t seen the latest episode — Nicky, a character long thought to have died in Vietnam, is actually alive.
And living at 2125 Songbird Road, Bradford. We don’t think the actual addresses on Songbird go that high, but we’re still pretty impressed for the recognition.
The first ones to alert us to the news were Ron and Maryanne Peterson from Wilcox, who were shocked to see Bradford’s name in connection with what critics call “the best drama on television right now.”
“It was only on the screen for about a minute and a half,” Ron said, explaining the address is clearly visible on a letter on the table.
“Bradford is going to factor into that show,” he said, adding he can’t wait to hear what Bradford’s connection is to the show.
Within minutes, messages started pouring in to The Era.
“I was born and raised in Bradford,” said Elaine Wickwire of Venice, Fla. “We moved to Florida in 1999. As I was watching tonight’s episode of This is Us, the very last scene showed an envelope on a table. This envelope was addressed to Nick Pearson, Songbird Road (I can’t remember the number) Bradford, PA. 16701.
“I was so surprised! Do you know, or can you look into, the connection this show, or anyone associated with it, has with Bradford? I’m dying to know!”
So are we.
By 10:30 p.m., Bradford and Songbird Road made the websites for E! News, Entertainment Tonight, Esquire, TV Insider and more.
If anyone knows the connection, we’d love to hear from you. Online speculation mentioned that Nicky was shown in a previous episode using a Zippo lighter during a Vietnam flashback.
The show’s family lives in Pittsburgh, and the show is produced in Los Angeles.
