DUKE CENTER (EC) — Two Otto Township officials resigned at the recent supervisor’s meeting — supervisor Cindy Gardner and constable Carl English.
Both vacancies will be filled by Jan. 1.
Two township properties in repository for unpaid taxes, one in Rixford and one on Summit Road, were awarded to high bids. New Enterprise will once again supply the township with salt and sand for winter road maintenance, and Satterlee and Sons was awarded the fuel contract.
Chairman of the township’s blight committee Richard Rivers held a conference call with county consultant Chris Gulotta to revise and update the township ordinance. When updated, the ordinance will be available to all residents and will be enforced through the combined efforts of the committee, the supervisors and the local police force.
Residents should note that during Christmas week, Rixford residents will have their garbage collected on Wednesday (the 28th) instead of the usual Tuesday.
The supervisors will hold an open work session to review the 2019 budget at 6 p.m. Thursday at the township office. The next general monthly meeting is scheduled for Dec. 13.
