KANE — A Port Allegany man was sent to McKean County Jail following an incident with police Saturday night.
Kane-based state police said Tony Burford, 38, was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
According to police, troopers were dispatched to 852 Skinner Creek Road in Liberty Township at 10:40 p.m. Saturday for a report of a “possibly intoxicated suicidal male.” Troopers spoke to Burford when they arrived on scene, but noted he was uncooperative and refused to answer questions regarding the reason that police were called.
Police said Burford attempted to leave the scene when troopers told him to stop and that he wasn’t free to leave. He then “became aggressive and resisted verbal and physical commands” and was placed under arrest.
He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Dominic Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
