The community is invited to attend two Elder Law Days that will be held this month in McKean County, featuring advice for seniors on various topics of interest.
The first will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Greater Bradford Senior Activity Center, 60 Campus Drive; and the second will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Kane Senior Center, 100 Fraley St.
The events are sponsored by the McKean County District Attorney’s Office, McKean County Collaborative Board, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and the LINK to Aging and Disabilities.
From 4 to 5 p.m. both days, Alan McGill, senior supervisory special agent from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, will talk about protecting oneself from scams. From 5 to 5:45 p.m., a local attorney — Tony Clarke of The Clarke Firm on Nov. 7 and Erik Ross of Woods Baker & Ross on Nov. 19 — will discuss the importance of planning ahead with wills, the power of attorney and advanced directives. From 5:45 to 6 p.m., Paula Fritz Eddy, executive director of the McKean County Community Foundation, will talk about leaving a legacy through the community foundation.
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer will also be on hand at the event.
