SMETHPORT — Two people will serve incarceration for charges stemming from separate methamphetamine lab cases.
Joshua Safford, 37, of Port Allegany, and Teresa Y. Doner, 45, of Bradford, were sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court before President Judge John Pavlock.
Safford was one of four people charged earlier this year for an alleged meth-manufacturing ring. In an unrelated case, Doner was one of two people accused of running a meth lab on South Avenue in Bradford.
Safford will serve one to two years in state prison with credit for 275 days of time served for a charge of conspiracy to operate a meth lab. On Sept. 20, he pleaded guilty to allegations he operated a meth lab between Jan. 13 and Jan. 24 in McKean County.
Two of Safford’s co-defendants have already been sentenced: Mindy L. Nichols, 34, of Smethport, is serving a prison term for charges of endangering the welfare of children and conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver a controlled substance; and Crystal E. Robinson, 41, of Bradford, is serving a jail term for a charge of conspiracy to possess a precursor with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance. The third co-defendant, Corey M. Robinson, 35, of Bradford, has a trial scheduled for Jan. 29.
Meanwhile, Doner will serve seven to 18 months in McKean County Jail with credit for 29 days of time served and two years of concurrent probation.
On Aug. 23, Doner pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to possess a precursor substance with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance and conspiracy to risk catastrophe.
She entered the plea to allegations that between Oct. 1, 2017, and March 27, 2018, Doner conspired with Terry Sorensen, 41, of Bradford, to possess pseudoephedrine to be used to make meth. Doner and Sorensen make meth using the “one-pot shake & bake method.” There was a fire at one point in the apartment, which the pair shared with two other people; a family lived upstairs, too.
Sorensen has asked that his case be listed for trial. No trial date was available on Thursday.
