It’s hurricane season, and the remnants of Hurricane Willa are expected to fuel a nor’easter storm headed towards the region.
Meteorologist Aaron Tyburski, of the National Weather Service in State College, said the storm will mostly bring rain, but didn’t rule out the possibility of seeing “a few snowflakes mixed in.”
He explained, “The first rain showers will be on Friday after sunset, and they will continue throughout Saturday until Sunday. The heaviest rain will be on Friday night and Saturday.”
Tyburski added that the storm may bring between 1 to 3 inches of rain.
He said that if the area does see snow, it isn’t expected to stick around for very long.
The storm isn’t expected to be very bad, according to Tyburski, but is expected to bring heavy rain.
“There may be poor drainage and backups, but there shouldn’t be anything widespread,” Tyburski noted.
