University of Pittsburgh medical students will provide free health screenings from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the Bradford Family YMCA.
Screenings will include blood pressure, blood glucose, body mass index and eye exams. Appointments are not necessary.
The screenings are sponsored by the YMCA, the Pitt School of Medicine and the Center for Rural Health Practice at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
There will also be information about the center’s Walk Works wellness program.
Following the screenings, the medical students will speak with pre-medicine students at Pitt-Bradford about their personal experiences applying to medical school and being in the medical field.
The medical students will also visit with Dr. Jill Owens, who is a mentor for Pitt medical students who come for four-week rotations in the spring and summer.
