Young artists can take part in the painting class “Canvas and Cookies” offered by the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 9 in room 406 of Marilyn Horne Hall.
Participants age 7 to 14 will get a chance to create a piece of artwork while enjoying cookies. Artists can take the project home the same evening. The $25 fee covers all of the materials required.
Courtney Mealy, who has been teaching adult and children’s art classes for more than 10 years, is the instructor.
“These have been great classes and I am always excited to see a new group of students who are interested in the arts,” she said. “This is a fun class for different ages and skill levels. While each student will create the similar painting, I like to teach children about creativity and self-expression. They will be able to make their own decisions and they will learn about creative thinking in this two-hour art class.”
