CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that railroad crossing work in Elk and McKean counties has been scheduled through early November.
Work on these Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad crossings is scheduled to take place as follows:
• Wednesday through noon Thursday: Route 1001 (Glen Hazel Road) in Jones Township, Elk County. The crossing is located between Stony Hill Road and Fritz Road.
• Oct. 31 through 5 p.m. Nov. 1: Route 46 (Kendall Avenue) in the City of Bradford, McKean County. The crossing is located between Mallory Avenue and Limestone Street.
These locations will be closed during the work activity and local detours will be in place. Motorists are advised to follow official detour signs. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
Work at each location will include removal and replacement of the rail, followed by paving of the crossing.
