SMETHPORT — A Duke Center man is going to state prison for simple assault and firearm theft allegations.
Seth A. Hanes, 20, of Duke Center, was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court to 27 to 54 months in state prison — or two years, three months to four years, six months — with credit of 128 days of time served.
Hanes pleaded guilty recently to charges in two cases: in one case, to simple assault, and in the second, to theft by unlawful taking, theft from a motor vehicle, and person not to possess firearms.
On Sept. 20, Hanes pleaded guilty to allegations that on April 24, he pushed his girlfriend to the ground and struck her in the cheek. Regarding the other case, Hanes, who is not allowed to possess a firearm, was accused of taking a 9mm handgun with an empty cartridge and several other items from vehicles.
Also in court, Maranda L. Strickland, 24, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges in three cases. She’s charged in one case with terroristic threats, in the second with retail theft and in the third with disorderly conduct. According to Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill, on April 5, while the emergency room at Bradford Regional Medical Center was nearly full, Strickland continued hitting the walls of a room in the ER after being told to stop; on April 19, she took an air mattress, an air mattress pump and an electronic hoverboard worth a total of $289.88 from Walmart; and on May 30, she communicated to a female that she planned to harm her. Strickland will be sentenced Oct. 18.
Wayne R. Barnett, 74, of Port Allegany was sentenced to 18 months of probation for a charge of indecent exposure. Court records filed at the time of Barnett’s arrest indicated that he would urinate from his porch in view of his neighbors, including a juvenile girl.
Daniel L. Jones, 26, of Smethport, will serve nine months of probation for a charge of simple assault. Court records filed at the time of Jones’s arrest indicated that the charges stemmed from an alleged assault on a female on Sept. 4, 2017, at his home.
Anthony J. Giordano, 63, of Bradford, was sentenced to 14 days to one year in McKean County Jail for a charge of illegally operating a vehicle without ignition interlock and a summary charge.
Mayhlon R. Troutman, 53, of Eldred, will serve 10 to 45 days in McKean County Jail for a charge of summary harassment.
Jeremy L. Anderson, 35, of Warren, will serve one year of probation for a charge of accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property and summary charges.
Dustin S. Feronti, 29, of Kane, was sentenced to one year of probation for a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Timothy V. Goodreau, 54, of Smethport, will serve six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program for charges of DUI-alcohol and summary charges.
Tanya N. Wile, 39, of Duke Center, will serve six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program for a charge of DUI-general impairment and summary charges.
